On the road again...

We're on the road again! We first hit a little snag as a rodent had chewed wires to our generator while the RV was in storage. Waiting to get the repair done in Kaysville, Utah, we headed over to Salt Lake City to roam around. Having heard about the Family History Center (geneology center) affiliated with the Morman Church, we headed in that direction. Of course we came totally unprepared, but ended up spending about three productive hours at the computers. Gene was able to trace his lineage through his mother’s father back to 1715, from Quebec to France. I was able to fill in a few missing grandparent names and dates from my mother’s side of the family. We are eager to see if we can continue some of the research on our own.

After paying the $320 to replace the chewed wires on the RV, we headed out of Utah on Highway 89, following the Snake River much of the way, weaving back and forth over the Utah/Wyoming/Idaho borders through hillsides filled with wildflowers and the fresh colors of spring. That night we stayed in Thayne, Wyoming, at Flat Creek RV park. According to the owner, they have barely begun to thaw and know that the snow may fall as early as September. It rained much of the night. Beautiful country, but I don’t think I could handle the short, short season of no snow, and relative warmth.
