Dyersville, Iowa to Mosinee, Wisconsin

In Duboque, Iowa we stopped at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, a modern facility showcasing memorabilia mostly from the shipping industry on the Mississippi River and an aquarium focusing on species found in the Mississippi.
The facility spannedhosted both indoor and outdoor exhibits and featured a dredging boat that had been in use until the 60's. You can wander around the vessel and look at the inner workings of a Mississippi river boat. The day was hot and muggy so less time was spent looking at the outdoor exhibits. It was a nice diversion from our driving and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Lunchtime found us at Ella's Animatronic Kosher Deli and Ice Cream Parlor. We found it through my iPhone app RoadSide America - a great app for finding pieces of unique americana. Ella's is a place where everything seems to be spinning or whirring or gliding along guy wires. Certainly the most unique ice cream parlor I've even been in. The food was good and the ice cream was great. I highly recommend the #1 Hot Fudge Sundae with their special pound cake!
The singing feet had a lot of soul. :(
On to our campground at Lake DuBay Shores in Wisconsin. My first challenging back-in site! But we made it without leaving any paint on the trees.
A short walk took us to the lake and the pavillion on the right was the home to some well-lubricated karaoke singers.
Betty and Ann posing by the waters edge (actually they were on a dock). The weather was beautiful and the humidity had dropped considerably since we left Duboque.
