Reykjavik, Iceland

We were next scheduled to spend a day in Belfast, Ireland but unfortunately high winds and rough seas forced us to skip this port.

Off to Reykjavik, Iceland. The winds continued to blow at about 20-30 knots as we headed north. The entry to the port in Iceland is small and our ship is big so it requires calm seas to dock here. When we arrived, the wind was blowing around 30 knots. The captain said that if the wind died down to 20 we would be able to dock. We waited, and waited - three times the captain made an attempt to go into the port, and each time the wind came back up and forced him to abandon the attempt. As time passed, the weather deteriorated until finally the captain informed us that we would not be able to dock here either :(

This is as close as we got.

Summer in Iceland!

There is a rugged beauty to Iceland which we will have to explore another day.
