Fryburg Fair, Maine

I gotta admit that this was a much larger fair than I anticipated when Allen suggested we go. This is really a big deal in the area and it seemed that everyone from counties around were there -- judging by the number of cars and the length of time it took us to get out of the parking area.

The harness racing was a blast to watch with the prancing horses racing at a full-speed walk. It appeared that if the horse broke into a trot it was disqualified.

A good time was being had by all.

My very first oxen pull. The excitement was intense as these monstrous animals pulled sleds piled with blocks of concrete. We had to leave before the finals - it was just too stressful.

A couple of the exhibits. This really was a great fair with a lot to see, eat and do.
